The University of Melbourne has over 30 Cultural Collections that provide a unique insight into a wide range of different cultures. This session to take place in the Faculty of Arts new object based learning labs will allow participants the opportunity to view and engage with a number of objects that reflect the cultural diversity of the University’s Collections. Working in small groups, participants will be assigned a unique object to consider. They will explore what stories the object can tell us. Attention will be focused on the history and reception of the object, the culture from which it came and how our perceptions of that object may have changed over time.
